During a speech this month to the American Bankers Association, FBI Director Christopher Wray said SARs "capture an incredible range of conduct" and allow agents to "follow financial trails, investigate specific individuals and entities, identify leads, connect the dots, and advance investigations.” The records, according to law enforcement sources, can help trace parts of drug networks, clarify the financing behind terror cells, and help officials decide whether to blacklist companies or individuals involved in misconduct. … [Read more...] about Here’s What Is Changing After The FinCEN Files Shook The World Of Banking

How Trump’s policies will mark a generation
Renegotiating trade deals Trump rode to power partly by promising to scuttle and renegotiate old trade deals between the United States and other countries. And he did, although it was at times chaotic, sparking trade wars with China and caused uncertainty for domestic businesses. But he managed to erase a crucial North American trade pact that went back to the Bill Clinton administration — the North American Free Trade Agreement — and replaced it with a renegotiated deal that even his critics conceded was better. … [Read more...] about How Trump’s policies will mark a generation
Why I rejected N200m bribe from ex-MILAD — Gbagi
“This governor (referring to Okowa) inherited a lot of mess. It is not easy to run the state. In fact, no industrialisation as it were, and he is doing his utmost best with what is available to him as resources. Some of what you can see, I may not see it and what I can see, Okowa may not see it. Some of what Okowa can also see sitting there as governor, I cannot see. But as an industrialist, some things I can see, he cannot also see them. … [Read more...] about Why I rejected N200m bribe from ex-MILAD — Gbagi

Doug Liman: Pulling Off Pandemic Heist Film ‘Locked Down’ Steeled His Courage To Shoot In Outer Space With Tom Cruise
LIMAN: Before the shit hits the fan. But the urgency of the shooting, I was really excited to see how that would affect what it looks like onscreen. I still feel like Swingers is a way better movie than it would’ve been had I had the proper production plan to go make it. I didn’t, so I had to do crazy things to get that film made, and that’s reflected in the energy onscreen. The Bourne Identity, the energy that you feel in the camera work mostly comes from the fact that Matt Damon and I were stealing scenes in places we didn’t have permits for, and so, I’ve been rewarded by, in my career, by allowing the practical realities of what’s happening on the set permeate what ends up onscreen. It would be boring to me, as a filmmaker, to just have a film with two people in a house. But we were going to try to shoot this at some insane speed, so we can possibly have a chance of getting through this before there’s an outbreak on the set or London shuts … [Read more...] about Doug Liman: Pulling Off Pandemic Heist Film ‘Locked Down’ Steeled His Courage To Shoot In Outer Space With Tom Cruise

Democrats seize on GOP donor fallout
“There is a well-developed, coordinated dark-money operation that has been active for years in climate denial, court capture, and political funding for the Republican Party. It is deeply undemocratic and ultimately dangerous, and it will be a top priority for Democrats to assure that control of government rests in the hands of the American people, where the Constitution puts it, and not in the hands of a few secretive dark-money donors,” Whitehouse said in a statement to The Hill. … [Read more...] about Democrats seize on GOP donor fallout
