HCM City (VNS/VNA) - Many universities in Vietnam are developing free massive open online courses (MOOCs) in an aim to contribute to a learning society available to everyone in the community. Ho Chi Minh City Open University, for instance, last weekend launched Vietnam’s massive open online courses platform, called VMOOC, with more than 40 free courses in fields such as business administration, finance-banking, law, foreign languages and others. The university is co-operating with Hanoi Open University to develop further VMOOCs. Dr Phan Thi Ngoc Thanh, director of the ELearning Center at the HCM City Open University, said that courses last for four to six weeks and are open to anyone. Course participants only need a computer with an internet connection, or a smartphone or other mobile devices, to take part in these courses anywhere and at any time. Vietnam, Israel begin negotiation over labour cooperation
Tel Aviv (VNA) – Vietnam and Israel kicked off negotiation over a labour cooperation agreement with an online meeting on January 21. At the meeting, both sides discussed technical issues to clarify their labour policies and regulations, as well as issues of priority and concern. They agreed to finalise negotiations and sign the agreement as soon as possible in 2021, with a view to bringing more Vietnamese labourers to work in Israel in the field of agriculture. Israel has a high demand for migrant workers, particularly in agriculture, healthcare, construction and restaurants, among others, while Vietnam has an abundant supply of hardworking and educated workforce. HCM City, Australian institute seal cooperation deal
HCM City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) of Australia on January 22 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in tertiary education and smart city building. Sealed at a virtual ceremony, the MoU covers the two sides’ join work in the next five years with a focus on international-standard tertiary education in IT and communications, mechanical engineering-automation-AI, business management, finance, banking, tourism, health, and urban management.
