Ghost Recon Breakpoint was a pretty big disappointment when it arrived in 2019: a "tedious and confused open-world tactical shooter," we called it in our 40% review , that "adds nothing of value to the Ghost Recon template." Ubisoft committed to fixing it , but like many of the commitments I've made over the years (losing weight, quitting smoking, being nicer on social media), it seemed like the sort of promise that was meant to be taken with a grain of salt. Ubisoft kept working on it, though, and kept trying to convince people to give it another chance , and today it announced on Twitter that it's going to continue throughout 2021. "Since launch, our priority has been to address feedback from you, our players," Ubisoft said. "We added multiple updates to our Ghost Experience, which brought the Bullet Lure, Darkest Night, Golem Island exploration, and World Modifiers to name a few. We have given you all the ability to fine tune Ghost Recon Breakpoint to meet your needs … [Read more...] about Ghost Recon Breakpoint will get updates throughout 2021

Pope updates Vatican financial authority following scandals
VATICAN CITY: Pope Francis has revamped the Holy See’s financial intelligence and anti-money-laundering unit following financial scandals, including an ongoing in-house corruption probe, Vatican officials said Saturday (Dec 5). The changes involve the governance and organization of the unit, which has been renamed the Supervisory and Financial Information Authority, or ASIF, the Vatican said. Pac-12 stock report: Update on the 2021 football schedule release; quarterback uncertainty; USC’s looming awards sweep
Commentary on the latest Pac-12 developments … Falling: Pac-12 football schedule. Yes, it’s coming, but (more) patience is required. This week, the conference informed athletic department officials via email that the 2021 schedule could be released next week, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the internal communication. That process can take at least a week and sometimes longer if consensus is elusive and revisions are required. “We haven’t seen anything,” a source said. This is the latest the Pac-12 has released its football schedule in recent memory (if not ever), in part because of circumstances beyond its control: The network partners, … [Read more...] about Pac-12 stock report: Update on the 2021 football schedule release; quarterback uncertainty; USC’s looming awards sweep
Commentary: Japan sure is smug about beating COVID-19
TOKYO: Early in the morning after Tokyo’s first really big Friday night in months, I passed the comforting sight of an elegantly suited salaryman facedown and comatose in the gutter. His briefcase, slightly ajar, revealed an un-stolen laptop; you could hear his phone ringing; his hip pocket bulged with an un-pilfered wallet. To businesses across Japan, the sight of white-collar customers out of lockdown and back on the tiles will come as a blessed relief. To a certain segment of the country, the man’s unstolen chattels and the cultural norms that protected them explain – obliquely but instinctively – the “Japan model” of relative COVID-19 resilience and how the nation clawed its way back to recovery.
