Peugeot 308 Wagon Rendered After First Spy Photos

The official debut is coming later this month. A brand new generation Peugeot 308 is scheduled to debut on March 18, bringing new technologies, new engines, and a new brand logo. We’ve already seen both the hatchback and wagon versions of the French compact testing on public roads, and thanks to new renderings we can get an early preview of the 308’s final exterior design. Our colleagues and friends at Kolesa.ru used the latest spy photos as a base for their new virtual drawings. The car you see in the attached gallery below is obviously based on the outgoing generation 308 but there are many tweaks giving it a more modern overall look. Gallery: 2021 Peugeot 308 SW renderings 2 Photos The spy photos have shown Peugeot will incorporate its new front-end design with LED lights extending into the bumper. The headlights will feature the brand’s distinctive three-stripe look and will be positioned around a massive radiator … [Read more...] about Peugeot 308 Wagon Rendered After First Spy Photos

Next-Gen Toyota Land Cruiser Rendered Based On Recent Spy Shot

The design is familiar but with some noticeable tweaks. A recent spy shot caught the body-in-white of what appeared to be the next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser. Now, a rendering from Kolesa imagines how the new SUV looks in the road-ready form with elements like a grille, glass, and trim. As the comparison below shows, Toyota is not giving the next-gen Land Cruiser a revolutionary design update. The grille is familiar but with new headlights. Towards the back, the D-pillar now has an upward-sweeping kink, rather than the boxier appearance from the current model. At the back, the changes are similarly subtle. There's another good view of the new D-pillar. The taillights have a more angular appearance, and the hatchback has a more chiseled appearance. The next-gen Land Cruiser rides on the same frame as the existing model, which explains the design similarities. Toyota's engineers plan to update the drivetrain and suspension to keep the … [Read more...] about Next-Gen Toyota Land Cruiser Rendered Based On Recent Spy Shot

Glickenhaus 008 Baja Dakar Buggy Gets Updated In Official Renderings

After nearly a year, here's a follow-up. Nearly a year ago, James Glickenhaus, owner of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus , brought forth his intention to build a wild SCG-branded all-terrain race car nearly a year ago. That idea was a hoot, and it seems like he's been working on the idea during the pandemic and now we have an update. Posted over at Glickenhaus' Facebook , the kit buggy now has a name and it's called the 008 Baja Dakar Buggy. Based on that name alone, you know that this fast off-roader means business. Here are the updated renderings: Compared to the initial renderings, the updated version of the 008 off-road buggy looks more conservative. The lights were moved on top of the hood and the roof scoop remains, while the side mirrors and front winch have been removed. The massive rear wing has also been deleted, but the previous roof-mounted spare tires are now moved into a special compartment at the back. The lovechild between the SCG 004 … [Read more...] about Glickenhaus 008 Baja Dakar Buggy Gets Updated In Official Renderings

If Motorcycle Companies Made Cars, They Might Look Like This

These six renders are certainly interesting. The folks over at Jennings are back at the rendering station with a new series of curious creations. This time the subject is motorcycle manufacturers building cars, and though several manufacturers ( Honda and BMW immediately come to mind) already have offerings in both genres, this slideshow focuses on brands that deal exclusively with two-wheeled fun. That is, for the most part anyway – a couple manufacturers featured here do actually have some history with autos, but as you’ll see that was some time ago. You can hit the Jennings link above or below to read about the inspiration behind these designs. There’s certainly some creative liberty at play in these creations that we suspect some might find, interesting. Jump into the slide show to see what we mean. Will The Next Jeep Renegade Look Like This?

The final facelift should be here by the end of 2018. Days after we published details about the upcoming Jeep Renegade facelift , projections for how the new small SUV might look are already beginning to emerge. In this case, the concept above was published by the website Indian Autos Blog and conceptualized by SRK Design. The image points to more square lines and more robust styling on the front fascia, with strong inspiration from the more recent models, including the new Compass and Yuntu concept (presented a few months ago in China). Launched globally in mid 2014, and on sale in the U.S. since March 2015, the Renegade will undergo these changes in an attempt to remain competitive until the next incarnation arrives (something that will only happen after the end of this decade). The competition in the segment has recently become more fierce, and practically all the big players have representatives in the category. In just the last few months, two rivals were … [Read more...] about Will The Next Jeep Renegade Look Like This?

GE2020: PAP’s new prospective candidates include former public servants, lawyer and banker

SINGAPORE: The People's Action Party (PAP) on Wednesday (Jun 24) unveiled a second group of four new prospective candidates ahead of the next General Election : Lawyer Hany Soh, banker Don Wee, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) director Mohd Fahmi Aliman and former civil servant Yip Hon Weng. PAP's first assistant secretary-general Heng Swee Keat said in an earlier session on Tuesday that the party headquarters was still finalising deployment plans for these candidates. When asked why the PAP was introducing prospective candidates individually instead of at the usual constituency level, PAP vice-chairman Masagos Zulkifli said it was not a "technical" decision. Considering the COVID-19 outbreak, this was the safest as well as the most convenient and productive way for journalists, he said. Indonesian student Reynhard Sinaga went unnoticed for more than 2 years in UK rapes of 190 men

MANCHESTER: To those who knew him, Indonesian student Reynhard Sinaga was an “engaged member of society” who was studying for a PhD at Leeds University. But behind closed doors, the 36-year-old student preyed on more than 190 men in Manchester, drugging them before sexually abusing them while filming the attacks. Over two and a half years, Sinaga remained unknown to the police until one of his victims woke up during an assault and fought him off, before reporting the Indonesian student to the police. Mahathir has served twice as PM, it is time to move on: Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leader Anwar Ibrahim has outlined why he is against a proposal for Dr Mahathir Mohamad to serve as prime minister for a transitional period of six months if Pakatan Harapan (PH) recaptures Putrajaya, stating that it is time for Malaysian politics to begin anew. In a television interview with CNA's Melissa Goh, Mr Anwar said the short transition would render the prime minister ineffective. "(If there is) a transition of six months, after two months people will ask when, when's the date? What’s going to happen? Are you going to have the same Cabinet, are you going to change it?  You have six months of not being able to focus on reform and the economy," he said. Since Dr Mahathir has served twice as prime minister - first as the leader of then-ruling coalition Barisan Nasional for 22 years and next as chairman of PH after the 2018 general election - Mr Anwar said it is time to move on. "I emphasise it's not question of personality. It's … [Read more...] about Mahathir has served twice as PM, it is time to move on: Anwar

Commentary: The ubiquity of cameras and social media fuels unhealthy mob behaviours

SINGAPORE: I recall growing up as a kid chatting on bulletin boards via a 24k modem dial-up, the connection breaking whenever someone tried to call the home phone. Youth of today must think of all this as belonging to the technological stone age. But as kids, those were care-free days, too. We weren’t preoccupied with bugging our parents for tablets or mobile phones. We would cycle for hours on end, without luminous vests, lights or helmets, or our parents being worried about traffic. CHANGING SOCIAL NORMS My parents used to reminisce about the good old days when if they got into an accident, other motorists were more likely then than now to stop to render assistance and offer to be a witness. That social norm to bear witness seems today to have been replaced by the ubiquitous camera. How that wretched little device has changed lives. I can count the instances I have captured the moments in my children’s lives instead of living it with them. Look, I have the … [Read more...] about Commentary: The ubiquity of cameras and social media fuels unhealthy mob behaviours
