Bungie addresses major Destiny 2 player complaints with massive changes on the horizon
Destiny 2 , Bungie’s long-running online sci-fi shooter, has a year of substantial changes ahead of it, according to a new roadmap the studio detailed in an extensive blog post published on Thursday . While the game’s next major expansion, The Witch Queen , has been delayed to early 2022, Bungie says it has major overhauls planned for nearly every aspect of the game — from the competitive multiplayer Crucible mode to how players progress and become more powerful across the game’s seasonal expansion model. One of the biggest changes slated for Destiny 2 is a major crossplay implementation that will, for the first time, allow players on PC and players on consoles to join one another for activities. In its blog post, Bungie said crossplay is coming later this year in season 15, and most importantly, the studio confirms it will not mandate crossplay for competitive activities as many fans feared. “Don’t worry, we won’t be matching console and PC players together in the Crucible … [Read more...] about Bungie addresses major Destiny 2 player complaints with massive changes on the horizon
A new problem to plague $525m Christchurch hospital
District health board members have been made aware of a new problem with a just-opened Christchurch Hospital building. OLIVER LEWIS reports. It was two years late and plagued by errors during construction, now a further major issue can be revealed at the new $525 million Christchurch Hospital building, Waipapa . Hundreds of valves in the hot water system at the hospital have to be ripped out and replaced, following an investigation into a valve that failed last year, flooding four floors. Waipapa, or Christchurch Hospital Hagley as it was previously known, opened to the public last November, more than two years behind schedule after a construction period dogged by delays and defects, including the June 1, 2020 flooding incident , and a tangle over plumbing pipes . Liz Peek: Trump vs. Biden – Greatness and optimism vs. depressing view of America
close Video Trump: Where Biden sees American darkness I see American greatness Democrats are giddy that Joe Biden was able to read a 20-minute speech from a TelePrompter. Imagine setting the bar that low for the guy you hope to elect president of the United States. Biden’s speech concluded a four-day dirge, otherwise known as the Democrat National Convention . From every viewpoint, the undertaking was a bust. Ratings for the evening broadcasts ranged from down 27% to down 9% compared to 2016; the best performance came on the night that Sen. Kamala Harris , D-Calif., spoke. Astonishingly, the last night, when Joe Biden addressed the nation, saw only a 325,000 bump from the preceding evening; in the past three elections, the final night audience surged anywhere from 4.6 to 10.4 million viewers. Uh-oh. Outbreak is the Call of Duty Zombies mode we need right now
This must be 2018, because Call of Duty suddenly feels like Fortnite again. Not the battle royale mode that spawned Blackout and Warzone, but Fortnite: Save the World—the underplayed PvE mode that set four players free in a massive outdoor map to scavenge, muck about, and ultimately fend off waves of marauding undead in defence of an objective. Call of Duty: Cold War's new Outbreak mode takes me right back to those weird months before Fortnite found its final form. It has the same big, purple sky, and what I once fondly referred to as the ‘natter phase’—an early, undirected stage of the match where close coordination simply isn’t necessary. As players casually one-shot zombies in twos or threes or trundle down dirt roads in Eastern European sedans, Outbreak occupies just enough of the brain to loosen tongues, facilitating easy conversation in ways a Zoom video chat does not. Outbreak isn’t built to win over Save the World diehards, of course. It’s intended to woo Warzone players … [Read more...] about Outbreak is the Call of Duty Zombies mode we need right now
