REUTERS: Thai Formula One driver Alexander Albon faces "a year on the bench" if Red Bull drop him for next season, team boss Christian Horner said on Friday. The 24-year-old's future is uncertain with Red Bull yet to decide on who partners in-form Dutch driver Max Verstappen after this season. Experienced Mexican Sergio Perez, out of a seat at Racing Point, is an obvious alternative for Albon who started out at Red Bull's sister team AlphaTauri (Toro Rosso) before being promoted. "I don’t believe he (Albon) forms part of (AlphaTauri boss) Franz (Tost)’s plans for next year, so it’s very much a Red Bull seat or a year on the bench," Horner told reporters at the Sakhir Grand Prix. Sunday's race in Bahrain and the following weekend in Abu Dhabi are the last rounds of the season and Albon, who has a long-term agreement with Red Bull, needs to show he is the right man for the job. Verstappen has scored 189 points to Albon's 85, although the Thai finished third at last … [Read more...] about Albon faces a year on the F1 bench if no Red Bull seat

IND vs ENG: Motera Pitch Likely to Escape ICC Red Eye as Final Test Strip Promises to be Batting Beauty
The surface of the newly-built Motera track have received a lot of flak after the pink-ball Test between India and England that within two days but it is unlikely to attract any severe sanctions from the game’s governing body International Cricket Council (ICC) as the pitch for the final game promises to be a batting beauty. With India 2-1 up in the four-Test series and needing a draw to qualify for the World Test Championship final at Lord’s from June 18-22, another turner is currently out of the question as the home team will be aiming to take minimal risks as far as the track is concerned. “Expect a good hard surface which will be firm and even bounce. It will be a batting beauty and since its a traditional red-ball match, one can expect a very high-scoring contest here from March 4-8,” a senior BCCI official privy to the developments told PTI on conditions of anonymity. Also, the BCCI bigwigs along with the team management understand the fact that another dust bowl won’t … [Read more...] about IND vs ENG: Motera Pitch Likely to Escape ICC Red Eye as Final Test Strip Promises to be Batting Beauty
Football: Pepe’s red mist ‘unacceptable’ for Arteta
LEEDS: Mikel Arteta branded Nicolas Pepe's lack of discipline "unacceptable" after Arsenal were forced to hold out for a 0-0 draw away to Leeds on Sunday (Nov 22). Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford and Raphinha hit the woodwork for Marcelo Bielsa's men after Pepe was sent off six minutes into the second half for a headbutt on Ezgjan Alioski. The Ivorian has failed to live up to expectations since a £72 million move from Lille 15 months ago and Arteta was furious at his conduct after being handed just a second Premier League start this season. "It is unacceptable," said Arteta when asked what he had told the winger at full-time. "When Pepe let the team down, I really liked the personality of the team, how we suffered together and believed in what we had to do." A point leaves both sides still in the bottom half of the table as Arsenal edge up to 11th with Leeds two points back in 14th. Arsenal have now not scored from open play in five Premier League games and even before being … [Read more...] about Football: Pepe’s red mist ‘unacceptable’ for Arteta
Bitcoin dives as red-hot rally hits the buffers
LONDON: Bitcoin plunged on Thursday to its lowest level in 10 days, slamming the brakes on its blistering rally and sparking a sell-off among smaller digital coins. Bitcoin, the world's biggest cryptocurrency, slumped as much as 13per cent to its lowest since Nov. 16. It was last down 9per cent at US$17,074, a sharp correction from its three-year high of US$19,521 hit on Wednesday. It has rallied around 140per cent this year to just shy of its all-time high of US$19,666, fuelled by demand for riskier assets, a perception it is resistant to inflation, and expectations cryptocurrencies will win mainstream acceptance. The second-largest cryptocurrency, ethereum, dropped around 13per cent and XRP, the third-biggest, slid over 20per cent. Both coins, which tend to move in tandem with bitcoin, hit multi-year highs earlier this week. Bitcoin's 12-year history has been peppered with vertiginous gains and equally sharp drops. It volatility has hampered use for payments and made … [Read more...] about Bitcoin dives as red-hot rally hits the buffers
Exclusive — Rep. Kat Cammack: COVID-19 Relief Bill Rewards Blue Lockdown States, Punishes Red Free States
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) told Breitbart News on Friday that Democrats’ proposed $1.9 trillion spending legislation primarily sends taxpayer funding to Democrat-run states with higher rates of unemployment. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 is regularly marketed as a “COVID-19 relief” package by politicians and media. “Less than nine percent of this entire gross package [goes] to actual COVID relief,” Cammack said of proposed federal appropriations in an interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. “This is just typical, left-liberal B.S., honestly,” Cammack remarked. “This is a COVID relief package that they are claiming is going to address support for small businesses and workers and families and individuals. No. T his is the ultimate Biden Bailout. If they were really serious about delivering COVID relief, they would start with the more than one trillion dollars we still have unspent from previous COVID packages.” Cammack added, “If they were … [Read more...] about Exclusive — Rep.
