Inside Katie Price and Peter Andre’s £1million Downton Abbey wedding – that she didn’t enjoy

It took just over a minute for a High Court judge to end Katie Price and Peter Andre's marriage 11 years ago today. The couple sought a 'quickie divorce' after splitting amid a blaze of mystery and accusations almost four years to the day of their epic Cinderella-themed wedding. Their bash was even bigger than the Beckhams', who only scored a measly £1million magazine deal compared to Katie and Peter's £1.75million exclusive with OK!. And the occasion was as OTT as the price tag. Despite rumours they were planning to marry in Scotland and celebrate their union with a giant boob cake, the couple actually got hitched at Highclere Castle in Berkshire - aka Downton Abbey. Katie, then 26, arrived in a pumpkin-style pink carriage pulled by six white horses down the estate's mile-long drive. Not one to shy away from making a statement, the bride dazzled in a princess-style pink tulle and satin dress designed by Isabell Kristensen, which boasted an unmissable seven-metre train. … [Read more...] about Inside Katie Price and Peter Andre’s £1million Downton Abbey wedding – that she didn’t enjoy

No, Chromium browsers aren’t going anywhere any time soon

Android & Chill Google is simply doing what it does best — keeping its extras to itself. Jerry Hildenbrand 6 Mar 2021 1 Source: Jerry Hildenbrand / Android Central I've seen something being shared around that looks like terrible news for anyone who loves the way Chrome can render a web page but hates the extra bloat that's baked into Google's browser. According to It's FOSS — a web site dedicated to all things open-source and a site I read regularly — third-party browsers that use Chromium are being locked out of certain features because Google is worried about market share. That would be a devastating loss to you, me, and the internet as a whole if it were the case, but I don't think it has anything to do with the market share of Chrome or that Google really cares about the particular features in play here. It's just Google making sure that only you and it have access to sensitive information stored in your Google account. Jennifer Locke 6 Mar 2021 0 Source: Sony PlayStation At Home has kicked off, promising four months of free content for PlayStation fans. Insomniac's Ratchet and Clank from 2016 is the first game being offered to everyone on PS4 and PS5 for free, no PlayStation Plus subscription required. It's a clear — and smart — marketing tactic when you consider that a sequel, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart , is set to launch in June, but an upcoming game doesn't necessarily mean its predecessor is worth your time. It just so happens that this time it is. Now's the perfect opportunity to jump into the classic series before Rift Apart's dimension-hopping shenanigans ensue. Why Toronto didn’t defund police in 2020 (nor all those other times)

Councillor Josh Matlow says he knew his proposed 10 per cent cut to Toronto police would face an uphill battle because of the budget’s “untouchable” status. “It’s the single largest line item in the city’s operating budget and almost every year it goes up,” he said this past week, almost six months after his motion lost a council vote eight to 16 . He remains convinced it was the right thing to do. The move brought greater transparency to the police budget while responding to “clear demands” to reallocate police funds into much-needed community supports — to “prevent crime, rather than just trying to arrest people who commit it,” he says. This year, police services across North American came under unprecedented pressure to change following George Floyd’s death in police custody in Minneapolis. Anti-racism rallies and defunding protests have led some cities, such as Calgary, to look at shifting some police money to social service agencies — but always with pushback. Change … [Read more...] about Why Toronto didn’t defund police in 2020 (nor all those other times)
