Iran feeds uranium gas into advanced centrifuges underground: IAEA

VIENNA: Iran has fired up advanced uranium-enriching centrifuges that it had installed underground at its Natanz site, in the latest breach of its nuclear deal with major powers, a report by the UN atomic watchdog obtained by Reuters on Wednesday (Nov 18) showed. Natanz is Iran's main uranium-enrichment site and the one that US President Donald Trump recently asked for options on attacking , according to a source who confirmed a New York Times report. The deal states that Iran can only accumulate enriched uranium with first-generation IR-1 machines and that those are the only centrifuges it can operate at its underground plant at Natanz, apparently built to withstand aerial bombardment. An International Atomic Energy Agency report last week showed Tehran had installed a cascade, an interlinked cluster, of advanced IR-2m machines underground at Natanz, having moved them from an above-ground plant where it was already enriching uranium with advanced centrifuges in breach of the … [Read more...] about Iran feeds uranium gas into advanced centrifuges underground: IAEA

Iran finishes moving first batch of advanced centrifuges underground

VIENNA: Iran has finished moving a first cascade of advanced centrifuges from an above-ground plant at its main uranium enrichment site to an underground one in a fresh breach of its nuclear deal with big powers, a UN atomic watchdog report showed on Wednesday (Nov 11). The transfer to the underground plant apparently built to withstand aerial bombardment was done in response to the burning down of an above-ground centrifuge-building workshop at Natanz in July, which Tehran has called an act of sabotage. It also slowed Iran's output of enriched uranium, the report showed. The move was the latest of many deliberate breaches by Iran of its 2015 deal with major powers in response to Washington's 2018 withdrawal from the landmark accord and its reimposition of sanctions against Tehran. The deal says the underground plant at Natanz can only be used for first-generation IR-1 machines. "They finished installing one of the three cascades and they have started installing a second … [Read more...] about Iran finishes moving first batch of advanced centrifuges underground

Iran to install new generations of centrifuges at nuke facilities: report

Video Player Close TEHRAN, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) will install new generations of IR2M and IR6 centrifuges at the Fordow and Natanz nuclear facilities, official IRNA news agency reported on Sunday. Within the time limit specified in the law passed by the Iranian parliament, the installation of these centrifuges will be completed and gas will be injected, Abolfazl Amoui, the spokesman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament, was quoted as saying. Amoui said that, based on the law, the AEOI should also produce 120 kg of 20 percent enriched uranium within a year. In last December, the Iranian parliament passed the law of "Iran's Strategic Action Plan to Counter Sanctions" which obliges the Iranian government to further reduce the obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal unless U.S. lifts sanctions against the Islamic republic. Enditem … [Read more...] about Iran to install new generations of centrifuges at nuke facilities: report

Iran Continues Installing Next-Generation Uranium Enrichment Centrifuges, Spokesman Says

"The number of new-generation centrifuges installed at nuclear facilities in Fordow and Natanz [Nuclear Fuel Enrichment Plants], at the moment is 492 IR-2M devices, which have already been supplied with gas, 492 more centrifuges of this generation are being installed. I hope that the process will be completed within the next month," Rabiei said at a press briefing in Tehran. Iranian parliament adopted legislation last year which paves the way for 20 percent enrichment, overriding the limits of the Iran nuclear deal. The latest domestically-developed IR-4 and IR-6 centrifuges, similarly prohibited in the deal, were given the go-ahead for installation to enable enrichment to blow past the 3.67 percent cap. Iran had set 22 February as the latest date by which Washington must lift the strangling economic sanctions lest it boot international observers from the country. In last gasp negotiations over the weekend, Tehran agreed to keep monitoring and verification of its nuclear program … [Read more...] about Iran Continues Installing Next-Generation Uranium Enrichment Centrifuges, Spokesman Says

Rouhani Praises ‘Superior Quality’ of Iran’s Centrifuges as Nuclear Deal Continues to Flounder

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has praised the development of Iran’s nuclear industry, telling his cabinet Wednesday that “today, both our economy and the centrifuges are spinning better”. “In recent days, we proved that we can carry out all of our nuclear production activities within one week if we want to,” Rouhani said, his remarks cited by Tasnim and FARS . Calling the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal “one of the most important political agreements” in Iran’s history, Rouhani stressed that its full implementation is simultaneously “very easy and very difficult.” “If there is serious will on all sides, especially among Iran and the United States, work in this area can be completed this week,” the president suggested. Iran’s precondition for the immediate honouring of its commitments to the JCPOA remains the lifting of US sanctions, he reiterated. Rouhani went on to suggest that although the Biden administration has acknowledged the failure of Donald … [Read more...] about Rouhani Praises ‘Superior Quality’ of Iran’s Centrifuges as Nuclear Deal Continues to Flounder

Don’t just think, take action!

Don't just think, take action! According to estimates by centrifugal concrete pile manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam, each new pile section produced releases 6-10 per cent excessive grout (cement milk, considered as waste). Particularly, in Phan Vu’s production system which supplies an average of 1.5 million tonnes of concrete piles to the market annually, more than 100,000 tonnes of excessive grout needed to be treated. After nearly three years of research, in November 2019, Phan Vu officially announced its centrifugal concrete pile production technology which produces little to no excessive grout. With this technology, the rate of excessive grout generated has been reduced from 6 to below 1 per cent. From both an economic and an environmental perspective, the improvement in the production technology of centrifugal concrete piles has yielded significant savings on materials and excess grout treatment expenses while also reducing waste treatment expenses as well as … [Read more...] about Don’t just think, take action!

Fire at Natanz nuclear facility caused significant damage: Iran official

DUBAI: A fire that broke out at Iran's Natanz nuclear facility on Thursday has caused significant damage that could slow the development of advanced centrifuges, an Iranian nuclear official said on Sunday (Jul 5). Iran's top security body said on Friday that the cause of an incident and fire at the site had been determined and would be announced later. Some Iranian officials have said it may have been caused by cyber sabotage and one warned that Tehran would retaliate against any country carrying out such attacks. "The incident could slow down the development and production of advanced centrifuges in the medium term ... Iran will replace the damaged building with a bigger one that has more advanced equipment," Iran's state news agency IRNA quoted the spokesman for the country's Atomic Energy Organisation, Behrouz Kamalvandi, as saying. "The incident has caused significant damage but there were no casualties." Three Iranian officials who spoke to Reuters on condition of … [Read more...] about Fire at Natanz nuclear facility caused significant damage: Iran official

Iran takes ‘final’ stance on nuclear deal and says US must lift sanctions before it will rejoin

Iran's supreme leader has said Tehran's "irreversible and final" decision is to return to compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal only if Washington lifts sanctions on the country. The comment, reported by Iranian State TV, comes as US President Joe Biden said he would lift sanctions to simply get Iran back to the negotiating table. The deal between Iran and six major powers limited Iran's uranium enrichment activity to make it harder for Tehran to develop nuclear arms - an ambition Iran has long denied having - in return for the easing of US and other sanctions. But former US president Donald Trump abandoned the deal in 2018, denouncing it as one-sided in Iran's favour, and reimposed sanctions that have crippled Iran's economy."Iran has fulfilled all its obligations under the deal, not the United States and the three European countries... If they want Iran to return to its commitments, the United States must in practice... lift all sanctions," state TV quoted Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as … [Read more...] about Iran takes ‘final’ stance on nuclear deal and says US must lift sanctions before it will rejoin
