Of all the years for Ford to slap the Mustang name on an electric crossover, 2020 seems about right. Subverted expectations are the name of the game and while the nomenclature might not sit well with everyone, rest assured that the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is a lovely little EV that speaks of great things to come. The normal Ford Mustang's M.O. is pretty straightforward: It's meant to deliver balanced handling with power. To that end, my First Edition tester holds the party line. With about 247kW and 565Nm of torque, there's definitely enough go-juice, but with the majority of the powertrain's heft located as low as possible, it takes a whole lot of brute manhandling to unsettle the Mach-E. As expected, the instantaneous electric torque makes for exciting starts, but it's not enough to rip your toupee off your scalp. On Nov. 26, 2020, the Senate approved on third and final reading Senate Bill 1357, otherwise known as the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (Create) bill, which seeks to reduce the corporate income tax rate and rationalize the current fiscal incentives by making them time-bound, targeted and performance-based. This was done in an attempt to revitalize the slowing economy, as it is predicted that the measure will bring in more foreign investments like never before. The House of Representatives, which already passed their counterpart measure in September 2019, informed the Senate on Dec. 15, 2020 that the former have designated members for the Bicameral Conference Committee. The father of Formula One motor racing driver Lewis Hamilton will soon have an Invercargill-built car in his lounge in England. Anthony Hamilton’s Jaguar XKSS has had a fascinating journey since leaving Dave Brown’s Invercargill workshop in 2013. Brown builds recreations of sport/racing cars manufactured in the 1950-60s, specialising in the Ford GT 40s and C and D-type Jaguars. Pentax has long made very good digital SLRs that offer excellent image quality with simple, intuitive interfaces.
