The Pixel smartphones come with a Car Crash Detection feature which saved the life of a man who was trapped inside heavy machinery for hours. A Reddit user named Chuk Walker posted his own experience of an accident and how his Pixel smartphone came to the rescue. Walker had an accident in November last year on his property in Missouri with a Bobcat loader. Albuquerque Police claim a mother arrested for her third DUI had a child blow into an interlock device in order to start her vehicle, local outlet KRQE reported. Dailene Lujan, a 25-year-old mother from Isleta Pueblo, was arrested after driving drunk with her toddler and infant children, as well as her younger sister in the car, according to KRQE . In order to drive her car, Lujan had her 11-year-old sister blow into the interlock device, KRQE reported. Over the next few weeks, the city will begin redirecting non-emergency calls made to 911 about unsanctioned encampments in Denver to the city’s 311 helpline instead. “The goal is to not have a public safety response to something that is not a public safety issue,” said Mike Strott, a spokesman for Mayor Michael Hancock’s office. “This is the next step we are taking in a series of steps to create an alternative response.” Homeless encampments in Denver have been a source of friction between residents and those who set up camp on sidewalks or parking lots, and neighbors often call 911 as more tents and tarps appear and trash builds up. House Bill 1287 would have expanded what plaintiffs can receive when their constitutional rights have been violated and change qualified governmental immunity that advocates say often acts as a shield to protect government employees from lawsuits. Rep. Matt Soper, R-Delta, tried to postpone his own bill indefinitely before the House Judiciary Committee began hearing testimony, but House Democrats opposed it, citing the need to hear from the people who came to testify.
