Apple is expected to announce its next iPhone next month, and now we've gotten our best glimpse yet at what the device could look like. A new video published by MacRumors reportedly shows a partially assembled iPhone 6S that has enough components to briefly power on the screen. This is particularly notable because we've only seen various components of the phone , such as the rear shell or screen, until this point. Although the model shown in the video is missing some components, a lot of the core pieces are shown in the video. iPhone 6S, 6S Plus have more RAM than any previous iPhone
2GB of RAM, that's what you'll get from Apple 's next round of handsets, according to iOS developer Hamza Sood. The developer confirmed via Twitter that the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus would come packing the long-rumoured spec, after it was revealed by the iOS development tool, Xcode. As a comparison, Samsung's Galaxy S6 comes with 3GB of RAM, while the Galaxy Note 5 has 4GB. Why so secretive? Sood also tweeted confirmation that the iPad Pro boasted 4GB of RAM, following an initial reveal last week in an Adobe-issued Creative Cloud press release, which was then removed. True to form, Apple did not disclose just how much RAM its new devices have on board when they were unveiled at last week's big event in San Francisco. This surprised no one. Apple's well known for its secrecy, excluding RAM from the spec pages for all of its devices. Follow Gadgets Now on Facebook and Twitter . Here’s why iPhone 6S may be in short supply
NEW DELHI: It looks like the iPhone 6S Plus could be in short supply despite Apple ’s claim that its new iPhones set for release this month, are on a pace to top last year’s 10 million pre-orders record. According to an investor note (via Macrumors) issued by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 6S Plus is facing supply shortage issues because of backlight module production problems at Apple’s Japanese supplier Minebea. The analyst, who has a pretty good track record when it comes to Apple related developments, says Apple plans to resolve the problem by transferring orders for backlight module to a different supplier, Radiant. Kuo says the supplier will see its orders increase by 70-80% to 4 to 5 million units in September. “We believe Minebea’s (JP) backlight module production issues in supplying iPhone 6S Plus (6S Plus) is one of the main factors in the model’s supply shortage. To tackle this issue, we believe Apple (US) has been increasingly … [Read more...] about Here’s why iPhone 6S may be in short supply
Audi PB 18 E-Tron Concept To Preview R8 E-Tron Electric Supercar?
We want to believe. Rarer than a Bugatti Chiron, the R8 E-Tron is one of the most exclusive cars ever made by Audi, but this wasn’t intentional. The original fully electric supercar based on the first-gen R8 never actually saw the light of production day while its successor was axed after being on the market for only about a year. During this interval, less than 100 examples were ever produced at an eye-watering €1 million ($1.15M in today’s money) a pop. Even though the R8 E-Tron has been haunted by failure, it seems Audi is determined to bring back. A new report from Automotive News indicates the PB 18 E-Tron concept due to be unveiled later this month during the Pebble Beach Car Week could serve as a preview for a new electric supercar. The rumor mill indicates it could either be an addition to the R8 family or it might replace the conventionally powered model altogether. Starworks Audi R8 to run in classic 90 quattro retro livery
The R8 LMS, to be piloted by Ryan Dalziel, Parker Chase, Christopher Haase and Ezequiel Perez Companc, will join the plethora of throwback liveries in the 2019 WeatherTech SportsCar Series season-opener, as tribute to IMSA’s 50th season. But the now-familiar shape of the R8 will be adorned with what became the classic yet subtle Audi Sport colors from the 1980s – mainly white, with burnt orange/gray/black trimmings. This is aping the colors of the wild Audi 90 quattro that graced the GTO class in IMSA in ’89, and which became a firm fan favorite among GT fans, in much the same way as had the BMW CSL ‘Batmobile’ and the various iterations of Porsche 911 or Chevrolet Corvette. The previous year, the ferocious ex-Group B quattro rallycar combo of 700hp 2.2-liter engine with all-wheel-drive, dropped into an Audi 200 shell, had seen Hurley Haywood clinch the Trans-Am title, and a combination of Haywood, Hans Stuck and Walter Rohrl won eight of the 13 T-A races that year. … [Read more...] about Starworks Audi R8 to run in classic 90 quattro retro livery
New leaked images reveal next iPhone’s design
NEW DELHI: It looks like the successor to the Apple iPhone 6, which is expected to be unveiled this fall (September-October), may not be very different from the current version of the phone. Pictures allegedly featuring the iPhone 6S ’ front panel have appeared on French website Nowhereelse.fr, which has a good record when it comes to Apple related leaks and rumours. The pictures feature close-ups of the phone's front panel and the panels on assembly line. The website mentions that the images depict the front panel of the Gold and Silver variants of the iPhone 6S which is currently in production. The website credits a person close to the development as the source of the information. It’s not clear if the panel features a sapphire crystal display or Force Touch, first seen in Apple Watch. It’s not the first time we’ve seen leaked images of the iPhone 6S. Earlier this month, 9to5Mac had featured images of the phone’s rear shell. It was reported that though the design of iPhone … [Read more...] about New leaked images reveal next iPhone’s design
Apple’s new Live Photos feature will eat up your storage
Apple's Live Photos aims to add a fun twist to your still photography, but could gobble up your precious onboard storage very quickly. The new feature, which works by automatically shooting video with sound up to three seconds prior and after a photo is taken, will take up twice as much storage as a single photo consumes, MacRumors reports. It's logical that a photo that's sugar-coated in full motion and sound would take up more room, but it creates even more of a storage conundrum for future iPhone 6S owners. Especially those who are looking to nab the 16GB options. On the other hand, if you're considering, or who have already pre-ordered, the 32GB or 64GB flavors of the iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus , you'll be able to take tons of Live Photos before you need to offload them onto your Mac. Thankfully, the on-by-default feature can be turned off if you're hoping to get the most out of your storage space. Stay tuned for our full review of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus … [Read more...] about Apple’s new Live Photos feature will eat up your storage
