Kelly Clarkson admits she’s written 60 songs since divorce and calls songwriting a ‘blessing’ to ‘let it all out’

KELLY Clarkson revealed that she’s written 60 songs since splitting from her husband Brandon Blackstock and says the process is a “blessing” to “let it all out.” Kelly , 38, filed for divorce from her music manager spouse last June after seven years of marriage citing  "irreconcilable differences" – and songwriting has helped her to process it all. Since the announcement the Kelly and Brandon , 44, have been embroiled in a nasty battle over custody of their two children, daughter River Rose, 6, and son Remington Alexander, 4, as well as spousal support. The Because of You singer is channelling all her emotions into song-writing and has since racked up approximately 60 tunes. Speaking to ET , The Voice judge said: “I have written like 60 songs, it is an insane amount of getting it out. I think that's a blessing in itself.” Alluding to the divorce, she went on: “Anytime you go through some life, it's such an awesome thing to have that outlet, regardless of whether … [Read more...] about Kelly Clarkson admits she’s written 60 songs since divorce and calls songwriting a ‘blessing’ to ‘let it all out’

Watch Video of 60 Minutes: Steve Jobs – Interview with Walter Isaacson

How to Record Video at 60 FPS on iPhone

By default, the iPhone records video at 30 FPS, but newer model iPhones support video recording at a silky smooth 60 FPS (frames per second) at a full 1080p resolution. This optional high frame rate video capture mode must be enabled in the iPhone Camera settings before you’ll find it available when recording video with the Camera app however. How to Enable 60 FPS Video Recording on iPhone Enabling 60 FPS video recording on the iPhone requires an iPhone 6 or better with a modern version of iOS. Earlier iPhones and earlier iOS versions do not support 60 FPS video capture. Open the Settings app on iPhone and head to the “Photos & Camera” section Under “Camera”, find “Record Video at 60 FPS” and toggle the switch to the ON position Exit out of Settings and open Camera app, flip to “Video” and you’ll find the ’60 FPS’ badge in the corner indicating the higher frame rate is enabled Record your videos on the iPhone as usual from the iPhone Camera app, at … [Read more...] about How to Record Video at 60 FPS on iPhone

Cinema 4D R8 Core

Things are about to get a much needed shake-up in the low-to-midrange 3-D market, thanks to Maxon. The new version of the company's 3-D-animation system, Cinema 4D, dubbed R8 and without the usual XL suffix, is being offered for less than half the price of the previous version (Reviews, June 2002). The price decrease may sound like a desperate attempt to boost sales, as other high-profile 3-D-software companies have made recently. However, Cinema 4D R8 is a huge release for Maxon, so rather than keep the program in a single package, the company is offering different modular configurations at various prices. The entry-level Cinema 4D R8 Core has almost all the features of version 7, plus several improvements, for the paltry sum of $595. This is almost the same package that was in competition with Maya and LightWave and cost more than $1,500. To the Core What you don't get in R8 Core that was available in the previous version is radiosity and caustics, and the three-node NET … [Read more...] about Cinema 4D R8 Core

60 Minutes for iPad

The last few years have brought a chorus of laments about the Internet’s potential to shrivel our attention spans, but 60 Minutes for iPad —a $5 offering from CBS Interactive—proves there’s still room for well-made long-form journalism. The app is pretty much what you expect: a remixing of CBS’s venerable newsmagazine, featuring long interviews with celebrities and in-depth investigations on critical topics. (And, oh yeah, Andy Rooney.) Segments from recent shows can be watched in their entirety, along with behind-the-scenes additions like 60 Minutes Overtime, a Web series that augments the TV show. Stories are searchable by topic or by correspondent, and can be shared via e-mail, Twitter, or Facebook. If there’s a complaint to be had about this otherwise solid—if no-frills—app, it’s the dearth of archival material. Some old stories made newly relevant by news events are available on the app, but (unlike 60 Minutes’ Website ) there’s no way to search for stories from the … [Read more...] about 60 Minutes for iPad

Apple pays $60 million for iPad trademark in China

According to a Chinese court, Apple has agreed to pay $60 million for ownership of the iPad trademark in China. This comes as part of a settlement with a little-known Chinese firm called Proview that had tried to ban sales of the tablet in the country. The Guangdong Province Higher People’s Court announced the settlement on Monday, and stated that the legal dispute had been put to rest. Following the payment to Proview, Chinese authorities transferred the “IPAD” trademark to Apple. The two companies have been locked in a legal dispute to determine ownership of the iPad trademark, with Apple claiming to have bought the iPad trademark in China from Proview in 2009. Proview, a PC and display vendor now facing possible bankruptcy, however, argued that the company had never officially sold the iPad trademarks to Apple. The Chinese company filed complaints and lawsuits, demanding that local authorities stop sales of the iPad in the country because of trademark infringement. The … [Read more...] about Apple pays $60 million for iPad trademark in China
