Police said early Wednesday morning, officers watched as the men left a building on Foam Place in Rockaway and put something into the trunk of a car. Texas and Missouri sued President Joe Biden’s administration Tuesday for rescinding the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), saying the program which forced migrants to wait in Mexico while their hearings progressed needs to be reinstated. The Trump administration created that policy – also called the “Remain in Mexico” policy – in 2019 to prevent unmanageable numbers of foreigners claiming asylum from crossing the U.S. border. Most asylum claims are denied, and many foreigners claim it to enter the country, then disappear into the general population while their asylum claims are still pending in court. NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – Bernie Madoff , the infamous financier who pleaded guilty to orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, has died in a federal prison, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press on Wednesday. Madoff died at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, North Carolina, apparently from natural causes, the person said. The person was not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity.
