The property market is set to get another boost from today as new Treasury-backed 95% mortgages enter the market in efforts to turn "generation rent into generation buy". Under the government guarantee scheme, banks and building societies will be offering mortgages to borrowers with just a 5% deposit with the government acting as the guarantor if the buyer defaults on their payments. Chancellor Rishi Sunak said the scheme would give lenders the confidence they need to start lending again after pulling hundreds of 95% deals during the pandemic. PAEDOS snared by undercover coppers will be banged up for longer after a landmark High Court ruling today. A top judge said that evil child abusers who are caught by undercover stings should be treated the same as those who manage to carry out vile abuse. One evil would-be abuser, Matthew Millen, had his sentence more than doubled – from three years to seven behind bars. The Appeal Court ruled that the predators should be sentenced over their 'intended harm' to a fictional child, which they said was no different to harm caused to real victims. Solicitor General Michael Ellis appealed the disgracefully short sentences handed to four men who had attempted to meet young girls online for sex. DJI has just upstaged the launch of its own DJI Air 2S drone by announcing a new sub-brand called DJI Automotive – the new home for its self-driving car tech. Rumors earlier in the week had suggested the drone maker might be moving into autonomous driving, which is a good fit for DJI considering its drones use cutting-edge obstacle avoidance. Well, almost. Ferrari has released a few images and preliminary technical specifications prior to a full debut scheduled to take place on May 5 – thus confirming a rumor we first heard on the FerrariChat forums . We will have to wait for the debut in two weeks' time to discover the car's official name as Maranello is currently referring to the amped-up 812 simply as a "special version" (Versione Speciale).
