Piers Morgan slams Meghan Markle’s ‘crass’ decision with Oprah

Piers Morgan bashes Meghan Markle for going forward with Oprah interview despite seeing Prince Philip’s condition and the Queen’s distress over it all. According to The Mirror he claims, "Prince Philip suffered terrible tragedies in his life. But he never gave interviews about how bad his life was." He also referenced Meghan Markle’s Archewell directive for compassion and added, "Rather than sending out sheets, Meghan, maybe just cancel your interview because it's obviously going to cause great distress to your mother-in-law." He even addressed Prince Harry in his rant and claimed, "What is wrong with you? It's crass beyond belief. If something, god forbid, happens [to Prince Philip] they'll want to exploit it." … [Read more...] about Piers Morgan slams Meghan Markle’s ‘crass’ decision with Oprah

Donald Trump Jr says not worried about going to jail: Report

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump's eldest son said he was not worried that he could be jailed over his role in the Russia probe, but suggested investigators might try to "create" legal difficulties for him. In an interview with ABC that aired on Tuesday (Sep 11), he also attacked as "disgusting" the senior administration official who wrote a recent anonymous op-ed detailing a chaotic White House, and acknowledged the president's trusted inner circle has shrunk since the piece's publication. Trump Jr has been under scrutiny for his role in apparent efforts to get dirt on Hillary Clinton from Russian sources during the presidential campaign, including when he met with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer and other Trump campaign officials in June 2016 in Trump Tower. Asked on ABC's Good Morning America show whether he was scared he was in legal jeopardy and could go to jail, Trump Jr replied: "I'm not, because I know what I did and I'm not worried about any of that. "That … [Read more...] about Donald Trump Jr says not worried about going to jail: Report

Dr. Fauci Says Donald Trump Missed ‘Good Opportunity’ to Encourage COVID Vaccine Uptake

Donald Trump missed an "extraordinarily good opportunity" to encourage Americans to get vaccinated when he reportedly received the jab in January, Dr. Anthony Fauci has said. CNN's Erin Burnett asked Fauci on Wednesday whether the former president could have convinced those who are vaccine-hesitant to get inoculated against COVID at the start of the year. Fauci said: "That would have been an extraordinarily good opportunity to get a signal to the people who would clearly have listened to him the way they listen to him in many other ways. "It was unfortunately a lost opportunity because he could have gotten a lot of people who are hesitant about getting vaccinated, vaccinated. I'm sorry he didn't do that." Fauci's comments come after Trump and his wife Melania Trump reportedly received COVID vaccinations before they left the White House in January, according to the New York Times citing an adviser to the former president. Newsweek has contacted Trump's representatives … [Read more...] about Dr. Fauci Says Donald Trump Missed ‘Good Opportunity’ to Encourage COVID Vaccine Uptake

Joe Biden’s election will not undo Donald Trump interference in Huawei extradition case, lawyers say

Lawyers for Huawei 's chief financial officer said on Wednesday that Joe Biden 's election as U.S. president will not undo the political interference in her case, which they say stems from former President Donald Trump 's pledge to intervene if it helped the United States extract a more favorable trade deal from China. Lawyers for CFO Meng Wanzhou want her U.S. extradition case dismissed on grounds that Trump's comments soon after her 2018 arrest in Canada meant she would not get a fair trial in the United States. They further argued that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and then-foreign affairs minister Chrystia Freeland had also waded into the debate, proving politicization of Meng's case. Meng, 49, was arrested on a U.S. warrant for bank fraud at Vancouver International Airport in December 2018 and has since been living under house arrest while fighting extradition. She faces charges of bank fraud in the United States over misleading HSBC about Huawei Technologies … [Read more...] about Joe Biden’s election will not undo Donald Trump interference in Huawei extradition case, lawyers say

Trump demands Saudis explain missing journalist

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday (Oct 10) demanded Saudi Arabia provide answers over the disappearance of journalist and US resident Jamal Khashoggi, whom Turkish officials suspect was murdered after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The Trump administration sharply upped the pressure, reversing an initially low key response after Washington Post contributor Khashoggi vanished on Oct 2. Trump said he had talked "more than once" and "at the highest levels" to partners in Saudi Arabia, which is one of Washington's closest allies and a key market for the US weapons industry. "We're demanding everything," Trump told reporters. "We cannot let this happen, to reporters, to anybody." "We are very disappointed to see what's going on. We don't like it and we're going to get to the bottom of it," he added. Twenty-two senators wrote to Trump invoking the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act, which requires the president to open an investigation … [Read more...] about Trump demands Saudis explain missing journalist

North Korea slams ‘ignorant and stupid’ Pence, renews summit threat

SEOUL: North Korea called US Vice President Mike Pence "ignorant and stupid" for his warnings over a planned summit with Donald Trump, renewing a threat to cancel as the US president said the fate of the historic talks will be decided next week. Trump is due to meet his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong Un in Singapore on Jun 12 for high stakes talks aimed at ridding the reclusive state of its newly acquired nuclear weapons and improving ties after decades of animosity. The summit announcement came after months of unusually cordial diplomacy between the historic foes brokered by South Korea. But the newfound bonhomie and the meeting's potential success has been thrown into doubt in recent days with both Washington and Pyongyang raising the prospect of cancelling the talks and trading threats. The latest broadside from North Korea came Thursday with vice-minister of Foreign Affairs Choe Son Hui lambasting a Monday media interview in which Pence warned Kim Jong Un that it would … [Read more...] about North Korea slams ‘ignorant and stupid’ Pence, renews summit threat
