LITTLE People's Isabel Roloff has sweetly called her sister-in-law Audrey’s daughter "precious" on Instagram despite their ongoing family feud. The 25-year-old's social media olive branch comes two weeks after her 25th birthday was snubbed by her in-laws on Instagram and fans told her she "deserves better". Despite the tensions, Isabel reached out to her sister-in-law under her latest Instagram post, which featured adorable shots of her three-year-old daughter Ember collecting eggs from their barn. The star simply penned: "Precious" alongside a loveheart emoji. Audrey responded to the comment by liking it along with 19 of her followers. Coronavirus digest: Brazil’s Bolsonaro tells people ‘stop whining’

Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro said on Thursday that people needed to "stop whining" about COVID-19 in his latest outburst against the protective measures to contain the crisis. The far-right leader's comments come as Brazil goes through its deadliest week of the coronavirus pandemic, with more than 1,300 deaths per day. "Stop whining. How long are you going to keep crying about it?" Bolsonaro said as he called for easing restrictions. "We regret the deaths ... But where's Brazil going to end up if we just close everything?" The South American country of 212 million people has had an outbreak of cases, partly due to a variant of the virus detected in the Amazon rainforest. Bolsonaro previously compared COVID-19 to a "little flu" and promoted hydroxychloroquine as medication, despite studies showing its inefficiency against the virus. At least 260,000 people died in Brazil because of COVID-19. Watch video 03:04 Share Virus runs rampant … [Read more...] about Coronavirus digest: Brazil’s Bolsonaro tells people ‘stop whining’

Japan’s PM extends state of emergency in Tokyo region by 2 weeks

Video Player Close TOKYO, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on Friday extended the state of emergency over the COVID-19 pandemic covering the Tokyo metropolitan area by two weeks to March 21, as infection numbers have not fallen enough for the emergency period to be lifted as scheduled on Sunday. Suga made the decision to extend the state of emergency for Tokyo and the three surrounding prefectures of Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama at a meeting of the government's COVID-19 task force. The extension is the second since Suga declared the emergency in early January, with the prime minister saying the measure is "necessary to protect lives and livelihoods." Health experts and local officials have voiced concerns that lifting the state of emergency for the region too early could lead to a resurgence in infections and the medical care system once again becoming overly strained. They have said that warmer temperatures mean that cherry blossom-viewing … [Read more...] about Japan’s PM extends state of emergency in Tokyo region by 2 weeks

Meet the woman who went to a remote island alone to watch films for a week

Heading to a remote barren island to spend a week alone may sound like the start of a thriller, but that's exactly what Lisa Enroth signed up to do. When the Göteborg Film Festival 2021 opened up applications to watch its 60 films in the 'Isolated Cinema' on a remote island off a Swedish archipelago, the committee was inundated with 12,000 hopefuls within two weeks despite the fact that the experience meant you'd be alone on the barren island with seven days' worth of supplies, and no phone allowed. None of this deterred Lisa, a Swedish emergency nurse who's been on the frontline during Covid-19. She caught the committee's attention, and a few weeks later was making the boat trip across to island Pater Noster. So, was it strange to spend a week alone on an island like this? She told the Mirror exclusively: "Not strange. More peaceful. I tend to spend a lot of my spare time alone, especially in these strange times. The strange bit was not being able to speak to my friends at … [Read more...] about Meet the woman who went to a remote island alone to watch films for a week

Outriders Demo Patch Is Coming Next Week

The recent demo for upcoming looter-shooter Outriders has been played by over two million people in just a week. Developer People Can Fly isn't resting on its laurels, however, with a significant patch set to arrive at some point next week that fixes a number of issues ahead of the game's full release on April 1 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Stadia. Connectivity issues were a problem when the demo launched last week, so People Can Fly is currently working on the game's backend to ensure the same thing doesn't happen when the full game launches. The developer says that while its infrastructure was ready for the raw number of expected players, the speed with which they were joining exceeded its expectations and the backend systems were unable to scale in time. People Can Fly also reiterated that any changes to the demo need to be carefully balanced with its work towards launching the full game. With that in mind, a patch for the demo is set … [Read more...] about Outriders Demo Patch Is Coming Next Week
