One of the many new goals that players have been striving to accomplish in World of Warcraft since Wrath of the Lich King was launched is the acquisition of large sums of mounts - upwards of and beyond 100 different mounts now available and rewarded with achievements. In the past this would have seemed nearly impossible but as the game has made certain restrictions more lax for lower content, developed new ways to get other mounts and now offers a slew of great rewards for certain accomplishments, there are dozens of new options that casual players and hardcore alike may not have had in the past. The Lower Level Content In the 3.0.8 patch, Blizzard made it so that players could easily and quickly get many lower end mounts that were not available to them before by opening up all racial mounts to all other players in the same faction. This immediately means that all players will have access to 15 mounts at Level 30 and another 15 mounts at Level 60. Of course, being able to afford that … [Read more...] about Maximizing Your Mount Count in Wrath of the Lich King
Mounts from raids
Slowly but surely my Nova Scotia discoveries were coming to an end. I only had one evening and one full day left after discovering the South West portion of this province over the last four days, following my last stops along the South Shore in Lunenburg and Peggy's Cove. As I rolled into town late in the afternoon I noticed the landscape: lots of lakes and waterways interspersed with low-lying hills. One of my first impressions was that many of the neighbourhoods had beautiful houses with well-kept gardens and established trees. Halifax presented itself as a very picturesque city. I did not have a Halifax city map on me, but I figured if I only headed east I'd hit the oceanfront sooner or later, which I did right near Pleasant Point, one of Halifax' largest public parks. A friendly local gentleman redirected me to downtown Halifax to Barrington Street which is where my abode for two nights, the Delta Barrington Hotel, was located. With his directions I was able to make my way downtown … [Read more...] about Hello From Nova Scotia: Arrival in Halifax and Stunning Musical Performance-DRUM!
Raiding is the term used when groups with more than 5 people venture into dungeons created for a high number of people. These dungeons usually contains the best rewards available in the game, however you must work hard for them. Most bosses have a hard tactic to master, and requires a lot of time to practice on. Therefore, pick up groups extremely rarely succeed in these dungeons. The best thing a person should do to be a part of these dungeons is to find a raiding guild.GuildA guild is a group of people, much like a clan, fighting together for the same goal. When raiding with your guild, you have the advantage of not replacing too many people from one raid to the other, making it easier to eventually succeed with taking down a boss. Most active raiding guilds have a website or a forum where you can contact them. It is also here you apply to join the guild. Some people might think "Apply? This is a game, not some job!" I will tell you why you should send an application and why you … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft Raiding
RAID is the short form of Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks, where Inexpensive is often replaced with Independent. A few years back when the disks had less storage capacity with expensive prices, a couple of disks were mounted to create a larger virtual disk, and it was much more logical and easily administered. All the disks are all placed in a confined area and if one disk crashes then a very useful amount of data can be lost. In order to avoid this is a technique called 'Mirroring' is taken into consideration. The data from all the disks is copied to another bulk of disks, so that if there is any corrupted disk then it would be replaced with its mirror disk. This is done for the complete integrity of your mission-critical data.RAID TypesAlthough there are many types of RAID arrays, but the ones explained below are the important of all.Concatenation:This type of RAID array is called 'Simple' RAIDs. It is a group of disks that are connected together tightly. Data is distributed in a … [Read more...] about All About RAID
