LONDON: Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris has lauded Dele Alli for the way he has responded after being prevented from leaving the club. It appeared the England international would move from the north London side during the January transfer window having beeb sidelined by manager Jose Mourinho, with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly keen to take Alli to Paris Saint-Germain on loan. Spurs, however, decided to keep Alli in their squad and the midfielder made his first Premier League start since the opening day of the season during Thursday's (Mar 4) 1-0 win against Fulham. Virender Sehwag was at his very best as he took to Twitter on Friday and reacted after Rishabh Pant smashed a breathtaking century against England in the ongoing final Test at Motera. Sehwag – who in his prime – had the habit of reaching milestones with a sixer – lauded Pant – after he did the same to bring up his first century on home soil. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived in Dhaka to a red carpet welcome on his maiden visit which is expected to put ties with Bangladesh in a new trajectory, as the two sides will firm up a number of pacts to boost cooperation besides ratifying the long-pending Land Boundary Agreement. In a special gesture, Modi was received at the Hazrat Shahjalal International airport by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and a number of her Ministerial colleagues including Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed and Agriculture Minister Moti Choudhury. Modi was given a guard of honour at the airport. K haleda Zia, former prime minister of Bangladesh and the chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, the main opposition party leading the 18-party alliance in Bangladesh, has drastically changed her party's anti-India stance. The right-wing political party's leader returned to Dhaka on November 3 from a week-long India visit that she termed as "highly successful". On Saturday, Zia met President Pranab Mukherjee. A statement from the President's Office said that Mukherjee praised the role of Khaleda as the opposition leader and as the former prime minister of Bangladesh. Mukherjee told Khaleda that New Delhi accorded highest importance to its relations with Bangladesh as a close neighbour and hoped that the diplomats of both countries will work sincerely to further strengthen the ties.
