‘Superbly Maintained’ McLaren F1 Is One Of Just Seven Sold New In US

It's currently up for grabs. The McLaren F1 is one of those historically important cars that will remain forever significant. Developed to redefine what a supercar is, the vehicle remains highly acclaimed for its performance even today. Given that, it’s a little miracle when a well-maintained example shows up for sale. This red F1 from the 1995 model year is even better as the seller says it has been “superbly maintained” during its entire life. It is said to be one of just seven sold brand new in the United States, out of a 106-unit production run. Gallery: 1995 McLaren F1 for sale 11 Photos Finished in red on the outside, the car has a clear and “well-documented” history from new. The ad doesn’t mention the exact mileage but says it has enough miles “to be usable,” whatever that means. Obviously, it’s not a garage queen but it’s in a very decent overall … [Read more...] about ‘Superbly Maintained’ McLaren F1 Is One Of Just Seven Sold New In US

Drive on in to John Schneider’s new movie theater in Holden; grand opening is this weekend

Been to a drive-in movie lately? Probably not. Well, John Schneider wants to change that with the new Stars 'n' Cars Drive-In Cinema at his studios in Holden. After a soft launch a few weeks ago, the grand opening celebration is this weekend, with double features on Friday and Saturday nights. “Two things I’ve missed since I was a teenager are drive-in movie theaters and Southern horsepower comedies," Schneider said. "I’m proud to say that both of them now exist right here in Holden in John Schneider Studios!" One of those comedies, Maven Entertainment's recently-released "Stand On It," will be shown at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a Q&A with Schneider, who stars in the "Smokey and the Bandit" tribute film. The Michael J. Fox-starring "Back to the Future" starts at 8:30 p.m. The outdoor theater, an ongoing addition to actor/singer/director Schneider's facility at 16050 Florida Blvd., features a 40-by-22-foot screen installed 12 feet off the ground for optimal viewing. ‘Good things will happen’: Ben Beshore charting Kyle Busch’s course correction

Ben Beshore did not take the bait. The opportunity to acknowledge the shortcomings of predecessor Adam Stevens presented itself, but Kyle Busch ’s new crew chief opted for the high road. “I worked for Adam for four years,” Beshore said last month in Daytona. “We had a lot of great success on that team. I’m not going to say anything bad about him, by any means. But from my standpoint, I’m just going to do it my way, I guess.” Beshore seemed jittery. Perhaps it was the adrenaline — he’d just won the Busch Clash — or maybe it was his first time on the microphone in front of this many people, but the rookie Cup Series team leader was delicately laying out his game plan for course-correcting a conspicuously wayward ship, careful in choosing his words. Busch, inching towards his statistical prime, won just twice in a 58-race stretch, an aberration in a career that’s seen the 35-year-old racer average one Cup Series win in every 10 starts. It was a wasted 2020 season for a driver who … [Read more...] about ‘Good things will happen’: Ben Beshore charting Kyle Busch’s course correction

Testing has started on Gen3 Supercars engines

The category is set to move to more modern, less highly-strung engines as part of its Gen3 rules , in a bid to slash both acquisition and running costs. Both the Ford and GM units are expected to be based on 'crate' engines, the Coyote for the Mustang and the LS or LT series for the Camaro. That will mean a move back to a mix of overhead cam and pushrod style engines, while there is also expected to be a difference in capacities. While the current regulations limit capacity to 5000cc, it's understood Ford is looking at the 5.4-litre version of its crate V8, while the Chevy unit could be as much as six litres. According to Supercars CEO Sean Seamer final capacities have yet to be decided, however motors are on the test bench and parity work has begun. "The engine development is underway," said Seamer. "There's plenty of work to do, but the timeline is very achievable. "We haven't landed on final capacities. Our focus is on paritising them. We know we are … [Read more...] about Testing has started on Gen3 Supercars engines
