Dulquer Salmaan Driving On Wrong Side Of Road Gets Schooled By Traffic Police; Video Goes Viral

Mollywood's heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan has yet again made headlines, but this time not for his films. Apparently, a video of the handsome hunk driving his swanky royal blue Porsche in Kerala's Alappuzha district is now doing the rounds on social media. The video taken by one of his fans features the actor unintentionally driving on the wrong side of the road and later being schooled by a traffic police, who asks the former to take reverse and use the proper lane. Interestingly, the entire incident was captured by the fan who also followed Dulquer's vehicle for a few minutes until it rushed away. Notably, the person who took the video has also issued a statement saying that people should not slam the actor for this incident as it was not an intentional traffic violation. COVID-19: More than 40% of over-80s have broken lockdown rules since getting vaccinated, ONS says

More than 40% of the over-80s have broken lockdown rules after getting vaccinated against coronavirus, new data suggests. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) asked more than 2,000 people over 80 in England about their attitudes toward COVID-19 . Some 43% said they had met up with someone outside their household, support or care bubble indoors after getting their first jab. And 41% admitted they did so less than three weeks after getting their first dose, "appearing to break lockdown regulations". Live COVID updates from the UK and around the world Advertisement Public health officials advise that coronavirus vaccines only start to offer protection two to three weeks after they are administered. Government scientists have also warned people against breaking lockdown rules despite getting their vaccines, as they could still pass the virus to someone else and cause it to mutate in the other person. 6 Rules for Debating Politics in a Polarized America | Opinion

If there's one thing Americans today seem to agree on, it's that we've forgotten how to disagree. A disabling tribalism has infected out country in recent years, one which has us at each other's throats, incapable of recognizing a shared reality, let alone shared values. In fact, one of those values that Americans used to be able to agree on was that agreement is not actually a goal in and of itself. After all, a democracy is not built on sameness but on difference, on tolerance, on diversity. The ability to communicate with people who have strongly held beliefs that are different than our own, and to respect that difference, was once a core American value, and one we've sadly lost. But it's this value—the ability to disagree —that alone can heal the torn social fabric that has become so frayed in recent years. How to reestablish this value? How can you have a respectful debate with someone who disagrees with your personal politics at a time when the issues are so urgent, the … [Read more...] about 6 Rules for Debating Politics in a Polarized America | Opinion

Happy hour for Ontario as province loosens rules on drinking

Drink up, Ontario! From alcohol in parks to earlier serving hours at restaurants and even the return of happy hour, there were plenty of new measures aimed at quenching drinkers’ thirst in Thursday’s provincial budget . The measures come on top of the government’s announcement earlier this week that it would allow alcohol at tailgate parties outside sports events. The most visible change for most drinkers is that municipalities will be delegated the ability to allow drinking in their parks and recreational areas. By this summer, you could be sipping a glass of wine — and not furtively — with your picnic at Trinity Bellwoods Park, or having a cold beer on the bench to celebrate after rounding the bases following your home run at the company slo-pitch game. “After 80 years of Prohibition, this is a breath of fresh air,” said Thomas Wilson, owner of Caledon-based Spirit Tree Estate Cidery. Mr Salmond, who was first minister from 2007 until 2014, was awarded a pay-out of more than £500,000 by the Court of Session after it ruled in January 2019 that the Scottish government had acted unlawfully. Followers of ‘doomsday cult’ QAnon believe Donald Trump will retake power today

Their messiah is no longer in power, but some followers of the QAnon conspiracy theory believe that Donald Trump will return to the throne today. Followers of the wide-ranging movement think the former president is waging a secret war against elite Satan-worshipping paedophiles and will eventually be restored to high office. But why on 4 March? Well, that date was, until the 20th amendment was passed in 1933, the inauguration date for presidents. The fringe belief that is still the rightful date comes from the unfounded claim among some QAnon followers that the US turned from a country to a corporation after the District of Columbia Organic Act in 1871. Advertisement Some claim that any president sworn in before that date is therefore illegitimate. March the 4th began spreading among QAnon followers only days after Joe Biden was sworn in on 20 January.
