Swimming with wild dolphins, even off a beach in the UK, is a dream many have, but having had this experience shows that hidden, almost fatal hazards are involved...I had been touring in my car with my partner Debbie around the Isle of Wight, UK, the small island off the Hampshire coast unique for its abundant flora fauna, glorious panoramic views, dinosaur beaches and superb blood-red sunsets. We had reached the south west part of the island on our tour. This has always been my favourite part, with shallow beaches stretching away between 'chines,' where natural ancient streams had cut away the rock creating ravines leading down to the sea.Cliffs of chalk and mixed clays project out from land over the sea here and the occasional entrance to a beach path leading down to the sea is reached from the main coast road. We chose a beach path with a large parking area on a field where we could park directly at the top of a small cliff over-looking the sea and enjoy the view while eating a … [Read more...] about A Deadly Dolphin Ride At A UK Shark Island – A True Experience With Potentially Fatal Consequences!

Difficult Relationships at Work - How to Influence the UncooperativeWe rely on and spend more time with our colleagues than with most other people in our lives: yet we frequently experience conflict at work. This is a problem that is beginning to be recognised, but it is still not being dealt with either effectively or sufficiently. Conflict is such a broad term for what can be experienced, ranging from office gossip to outright bullying. In nearly every single office there are always going to be personality clashes at some point, and most of the time they will be fairly easily sorted out. However, sometimes they aren't and there is often no other option than to resign. The real problem underlying this situation is that people really don't have the skills to deal with these kinds of situations. They frequently accept the problem when it is happening and then get really upset afterwards. The Five Strategies for Dealing with Conflict1. AvoidanceThis is the most frequently used … [Read more...] about Difficult Relationships at Work – Dealing with Workplace Conflict
"Someone was hurt before you; wronged before you, hungry before you, frightened before you, raped before you; yet, someone survived" - Maya Angelou"Do not grieve. Misfortunes do not flourish particularly in our path. They grow everywhere." These words spoken by Omalia Indian Chief Big Elk in 1815 are worth repeating today. When adversity appears in our lives, we often feel victimized, alone and helpless. A very deep look at the lives of successful people shows that misfortunes do not just strike selected individuals. It is inevitable in all our lives. The big challenge is how we choose to handle the situations and what we can learn from it.One thing I have learnt is that the experience of our misfortune or adversity allows us to be strong. Like in baking bread, the more the heat the more the bread gets bigger and better. It enables some other people the opportunity to develop new strengths and etch their personal statements on life with deep conviction.Reverend Jesse Jackson overcame a … [Read more...] about Using Negative Experience to Discover Your Strength
Mexico the country of Salsa, Tortillas and Corruption; I first arrived in Mexico City in February 2002 as an instructor for the WFB - the World Federation of Bodyguards. A Mexican security service had contracted Anders Sorenson, the Norwegian WFB instructor and I, to set-up a training program for BG's in Mexico.I came through customs and the weapons search, shaking my head at the Mexican officials who only spoke Spanish, making my visa interview a complete waste of time. That was one of my first lessons about Mexico; almost all Mexicans dream of going to the US to live however, the vast majority speaks nothing but Mexican Spanish. This lack of English knowledge goes all the way from the basic uneducated labour worker to the university-educated attorney at law!The Assassination:On my second day in Mexico, I witnessed a Mexican Assassination complete with a "Hollywood-Movie" car chase. Sitting in our chauffeur driven vehicle, I was enjoying the sights in the city of Morelia, Michoacan, … [Read more...] about Bodyguard Training in Mexico; My Experiences While Providing BG Training in Mexico
That is the question I asked myself. I felt stressed, knew why and knew I needed to do something about it. They say recognising that you have the problem in the first place is half the battle won, so now the question posed was how was I going to totally defeat the enemy?I remembered reading a magazine article that mentioned hypnosis and the fact that CDs and audio tapes were available over the counter. Could this be the solution I was seeking? Time for a little research. Research certainly suggested that it might work. Written testimonials were mostly positive but others had mixed feelings. A bit worrying perhaps but as time and experience would prove, there is a reason for the differing opinions on the efficacy of a particular hypnotist. My choice, and one I am very pleased with, is a hypnotist by the name of Glenn Harrold. He has produced many titles and the reviews of his work were mostly very positive. One or two reviewers were not one hundred percent in their praise but that is to … [Read more...] about Hypnosis CDs, Do They Work?
