New Delhi : Popular Tamil actor and comedian Vivek, who passed away earlier today at the age of 59, was laid to rest on Saturday in Chennai with state honours. He was accorded state honours with a 72-gun salute in Chennai, during his last rites ceremony. The Padma Shri awardee was admitted to the intensive care unit of SIMS hospital in Vadapalani, where he later passed away after he had suffered from a heart attack on Friday. He had reportedly fainted after expressing discomfort and his family rushed him to the SIMS Hospital at Vadapalani while he was in an unconscious state. He later underwent an emergency coronary angiogram followed by angioplasty. The actor`s condition was reported to be critical and he was on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the intensive care unit of the hospital. South actor Vivek died in Chennai on Saturday. The 59-year-old actor was admitted to a hospital on Friday after he complained of discomfort. The actor is known for his comedy and ability to mimic others. Hindi television actress Kanishka Soni, who has done movies in the South, was seen in the Tamil film Pathayeram Kodi (2013) with Vivek. She shares, "It was really nice working with him. He was supportive and kind to me. I didn't know much about the South industry and the working there at that point, but he made me feel comfortable. I actually wasn't even aware of the work he had done, apart from the fact that he was part of the film Sivaji which starred Rajinikanth sir." British actor Helen McCrory, who starred in the television show Peaky Blinders and the Harry Potter movies, has died, her husband said Friday (local time). She was 52 and had been suffering from cancer. Her husband, fellow actor Damian Lewis, said McCrory died “peacefully at home” after a "heroic battle with cancer.” “She died as she lived. Alma Wahlberg , mother to actors Mark and Donnie Wahlberg and a regular on the A&E reality series Wahlburgers , has died from an undisclosed illness. She was 78 and her death was confirmed Sunday on social media by her sons, although her date of death was not clarified. Alma Wahlberg grew up in the Dorchester area of Boston and married Donald E. Wahlberg in 1965. They had nine children and she also worked as a bank clerk and nurse’s aide. Alma and Donald divorced in 1982, and Donald died in 2008. She became a public figure as a regular on the family’s reality show, Wahlburgers , which ran for 10 seasons from 2014 to 2019. She was featured in 27 episodes of the show, which focused on the family’s restaurant business. The BBC polled 62 international film critics and asked them to choose the 100 greatest American films of all time. About half the list is little different from the one compiled and updated by the American Film Institute every decade. The other half is full of surprises. There is no right or wrong answer to listing your favorite films. It is all subjective.
