Biden wants infrastructure deal as Colorado gets a C-minus grade
WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden wants Congress to know he’s sincere about cutting a deal on infrastructure, but Republican lawmakers have deep-seated doubts about the scope of his proposed package, its tax hikes and Biden’s premise that this is an inflection point for the U.S. as a world power. Biden met Monday afternoon with a bipartisan group of lawmakers and tried to assure them that the Oval Office gathering was not “window dressing.” One of the core disputes is over what counts as infrastructure in his $2.3 trillion proposal. “I’m prepared to negotiate as to the extent of my infrastructure project, as well as how we pay for it,” Biden said. “It’s going to get down to what we call ‘infrastructure.’” Republican Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi indicated after the meeting that he was willing to negotiate with Biden and called it a “good discussion.” But a more fundamental disagreement also emerged about whether the United States is losing its status atop the global economy … [Read more...] about Biden wants infrastructure deal as Colorado gets a C-minus grade
I spectated prime minister’s questions – in Roblox
"Mister Speaker, just last week the prime minister placed the Australian treasurer in His Majesty's Prison Service, with his only reasoning being that he 'served as a leading figure in a fake UK a while back'. "...I would like to ask the prime minister what exactly his reason is for the imprisonment of the Australian treasurer?" So begins one of the questions asked by the leader of the opposition in Parliament last month. No - not the real one that's currently embroiled in debates over Brexit. I mean the one in Roblox. If this name isn't ringing any bells, you're probably not alone, as Roblox remains relatively undiscussed in games media. While it may look like the outcome of an unfortunate accident at a Lego factory, Roblox is actually an incredibly successful game. Released in 2006, the free-to-play multiplayer title reached about 48 million monthly players in March 2017 - putting it in the same ballpark as Minecraft, which in February 2017 attracted 55m users per month . … [Read more...] about I spectated prime minister’s questions – in Roblox

AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine: How common are blood clots and should I be worried?
London (CNN) Following weeks of speculation about whether Oxford-AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine might be connected to dozens of cases of blood clots reported in the region, European drug regulators have now announced that there is a possible link. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) stopped short of changing its guidance on how the vaccine is used, maintaining that the overall benefits still outweigh the risks, while some European countries are restricting use of the shot to older age groups only. On the same day, UK authorities also confirmed the link and emphasized that the benefits of the AstraZeneca shot outweighed its risk overall, but took a different course of action for people under the age of 30, advising that they are given different vaccines, if available. The regulators have cleared up some questions around the AstraZeneca shot but raised many others. Here are the answers to some of them. What are the risks of taking the … [Read more...] about AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine: How common are blood clots and should I be worried?

Women are right to sell nudes – having men lust after you is powerful not sl*tty, says Megan Barton-Hanson
AS celebs and influencers move from Instagram to sell sexy selfies to fans on subscription sites, we ask, should women cash in from posing nude? And does payment for nude selfies set back feminism? Yes Says Megan Barton-Hanson, 26, Onlyfans user Power is firmly in the hands of the content creator – like me THE 26-year-old former Love Islander and OnlyFans user says: “OnlyFans is a paid content site which has changed the power dynamic for glamour models and sex workers, with the power now firmly being in the hands of the content creator. “Those on the site can decide their rates without a third party and choose what “level” they shoot to, be it topless or nude. They can also own all the rights to the images. “Before, models often felt pressured to shoot to a level they weren’t comfortable with in order to earn more money or secure more work. “And newer models, who can often be naive to the dangers of the industry, have been a target for … [Read more...] about Women are right to sell nudes – having men lust after you is powerful not sl*tty, says Megan Barton-Hanson

Despite growing demand in Ho Chi Minh City, supply of affordable apartments flatlines
Ho Chi Minh City has seen a nominal number of new affordable housing projects in the past five years, which has greatly frustrated the road to homeownership of the city’s up-and-coming young workforce. As per Vietnamese law, social housing is put under strict regulations, where hopeful buyers must meet a score of criteria to become eligible for purchase. Members of the general public are resting their best hopes on privately-developed affordable housing projects, yet the category is finding itself in a tight corner of the market, catching little interest from developers. Fizzling supply After the housing bust that haunted the domestic market from 2009 to 2013, Ho Chi Minh City and the surrounding locales observed a surge of housing projects from low- to mid-tier range, as 78 percent of the new housing projects in the area in 2017 were classified as B- or C-tier, according to a report from the real estate firm DKRA. As per Vietnam’s Circular 31/2016, qualified apartment … [Read more...] about Despite growing demand in Ho Chi Minh City, supply of affordable apartments flatlines
