Much to my delight, an army of plain text-lovin' lifehackers out there use todo.txt to keep themselves organized, and many of you sent in suggestions and improvements to my scripts in the comments and via email. I admitted from the get-go that my first attempt was half-baked and had more holes than Swiss cheese. Well, with all your generous help, dear readers, the Lifehacker todo manager has grown up to be super-strength and featureful. Ed Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp tells ticket tout trial that he took a stand against ‘absurd’ resale prices after spotting £75 charity gig seats on sale on Viagogo for £7,000
Ed Sheeran's manager told a court today how the singer clamped down on ticket touts after seeing £75 seats at his charity gig reselling for 'obscene' prices of £7,000. Stuart Camp was giving evidence as a prosecution witness in the trial of Peter Hunter and David Smith - who traded as Ticket Wiz and BZZ. They allegedly sold millions of pounds of tickets for top events harvested from official sellers using computer bots and fake identities. The pair deny fraudulent trading relating to tickets to see top acts like Sheeran, big sporting events, the Chelsea Flower Show and West End shows like Harry Potter And The Cursed Child. Mr Camp decided to try and stamp out the resale of Sheeran's concert tickets after they were resold for his March 2017 Royal Albert Hall gig in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. He said Sheeran performed at the event for nothing and the tickets were £75 plus a booking fee, but he saw some going for £7,000 on the secondary … [Read more...] about Ed Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp tells ticket tout trial that he took a stand against ‘absurd’ resale prices after spotting £75 charity gig seats on sale on Viagogo for £7,000
HC pulls up govt for poor traffic management, congestion on roads in Gujarat
AHMEDABAD: Upset with poor traffic management and heavy traffic jam in Ahmedabad, the Gujarat High Court on Thursday slammed the state government and the city municipal corporation for failing to improve the situation. According to reports, making an observation on the traffic situation, the Gujarat high court bench of Justice MR Shah and Justice Biren Vaishnav said there is a traffic jam at every crossroads in all cities. The court further stated that due to haphazard parking, roads with two-three lanes too turns into single-lane roads. The court also suggested that the authorities should declare ''no-parking zones'' on roads so that traffic remains smooth. Responding to its concerns, the government informed the court that it would rope in concerned departments to solve traffic problems. The high court also criticised the AMC for … [Read more...] about HC pulls up govt for poor traffic management, congestion on roads in Gujarat
Boys aged twelve should be given ‘anger management’ lessons at school to curb knife crime, report says
Boys aged twelve and thirteen should be given “anger management” lessons at school to help curb knife crime, a report has said. A study into how violence affects young people, commissioned by Greater Manchester Police, found that peer pressure and a culture of “toxic masculinity” increase the likelihood of teenage boys getting involved in crime. The research, conducted by The Innovation Unit, was commissioned by Greater Manchester's council and police chiefs as part of their Serious Violence Action Plan. It said that students in Year Eight should have single sex PSHE lessons where boys are taught how to manage aggression, understand peer pressures and “develop identities and aspirations which do not rely on violence or exploitation”. “We heard that many boys and young men in Greater Manchester are being told more than ever before that retaliation is a strength and emotions other than aggression are feminine,” the … [Read more...] about Boys aged twelve should be given ‘anger management’ lessons at school to curb knife crime, report says
